Mailing Lists

As this is a free service, the IT Security and Policy Office does not offer in-depth technical support on software issues related to deployment of services; however, there are several mailing lists available for assistance:

users@shibboleth.net

General support list for questions not-specific to the LSU environment, this is open subscribe.

announce@shibboleth.net

List for announcements of upgrades, patches, security issues, etc. All deployers should subscribe to this list.

shib-l@listserv.lsu.edu

Support list for LSU-specific questions and LSU-specific announcements, this is open subscribe.

servicedesk@lsu.edu

Registration/change requests. This will generate an ITS Service Desk ticket.

You can send questions to security@lsu.edu list, but we strongly encourage all deployers to subscribe to the shib-l list to ensure that you see important announcements. Questions about problems are usually better sent to the shibl-l@listserv.lsu.edu or users@shibboleth.net lists. Open source software relies on public support and the ability to learn from the questions of others. Asking questions in private inhibits this. Questions of a sensitive nature can be sent to security@lsu.edu, and will not be seen other than by IT Security and Policy staff.
